# Postgale vs Postiz

Vendor facts checked on 22 October 2026.

Postiz is an agentic social media scheduler: agents draft and schedule through its hosted MCP server (OAuth sign-in), CLI or API to 30+ channels, and people review everything in a visual calendar. It is open source (AGPL-3.0) with a hosted plan from $29 a month. Postgale is a secure layer rather than a scheduler: approval that a person sets per workspace, account, key or app and that the agent cannot approve itself, a queue for comment replies and DMs as well as posts, and an audit log of every write. Postiz covers many more channels and publishes its prices.

## What is the difference between Postgale and Postiz?

Postgale is the secure layer for AI agents on social media. Agents publish through its REST API and MCP server; a person decides where approval applies, and every write is recorded in an audit log.

Postiz calls itself “the agentic social media scheduling platform”. Agents connect through a hosted MCP server with OAuth sign-in (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok Build), a CLI and skill (`npx skills add gitroomhq/postiz-agent`, used by OpenClaw, Codex, Hermes Agent and others) or a public API, and posts land in one calendar where, in its words, “a human reviews and approves it before it goes out”. It also has a built-in AI agent, image and video generation, and a self-hostable open-source edition.

## When should you pick Postiz, and when Postgale?

Pick Postiz if you want a full scheduler that agents can drive: a calendar, 30+ channels including LinkedIn, YouTube and X, AI images and video, RSS auto-posting, repeating posts, a CLI for shell-based agents, or an open-source edition to run yourself.

Pick Postgale if the agent itself is the user: if a person, not the agent, must decide what needs approval and the agent cannot switch it off; if replies, comment moderation and direct messages should wait in the same queue as posts; and if you want an audit log of every agent action from day one. Postgale also covers WhatsApp Business conversations and DMs on Instagram and Messenger.

## Questions

### Is Postgale a Postiz alternative?

They overlap less than it seems. Postiz is a scheduler with agent access and a review calendar; Postgale is a secure layer for agents with approval set by people, a queue for replies and DMs, and an audit log. Postiz covers far more channels.

### Do both work with ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor?

Yes. Both have hosted MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. Postiz also has a CLI and skill for shell-based agents such as OpenClaw and Hermes Agent; Postgale serves those through its MCP server or REST API with an API key.

### Can I self-host?

Postiz publishes a self-hostable AGPL-3.0 edition. Postgale is a hosted service.
