# Connect ChatGPT to X: coming soon

Source: https://postgale.com/guides/chatgpt/x

Not yet. X is coming soon to Postgale: X accounts cannot be connected today, so ChatGPT cannot post, reply or send direct messages on X through Postgale yet. ChatGPT can already connect to Postgale and work on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, Telegram, Discord, Bluesky and Mastodon, and answer customers on WhatsApp Business.

## Can ChatGPT post, reply or send direct messages on X through Postgale?

> Coming soon: X is not available yet. An X account cannot be connected in Postgale today, so nothing on this page works against X yet. What is planned may change before launch.

Postgale is the secure layer for AI agents on social media. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor use outside tools. An MCP server is what they connect to. Until X is live, Dashboard → Accounts shows X as “Coming soon”, and ChatGPT gets no X account to act on.

## What is planned for X?

The plan is the official X API v2, with the same approval, audit log and revocable access as the other platforms. Details may change before launch:

- Posts, threads, polls and quote posts with images, a GIF or a video.
- Replies, mentions and direct messages.
- Recent search and post metrics.
- X’s own rules applied before anything is sent, such as its 280 weighted-character limit.

## Set up ChatGPT with Postgale today

1. Create a Postgale workspace and connect the social accounts the agent may use under Dashboard → Accounts.
2. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode.
3. Choose Create (or Add connector), name it Postgale, paste the server URL and set authentication to OAuth:

Connector URL:
```text
https://postgale.com/mcp
```

1. Create the connector. A Postgale page opens in the browser: sign in, pick the workspace the app may use and approve. The consent page names the app and where it returns to; approve only requests you started yourself.
2. Start a new chat with the Postgale connector enabled and ask: “Which social accounts are connected in Postgale?” ChatGPT calls `list_accounts` and answers with the accounts and their status.

> The menu names are ChatGPT’s and can move; the [MCP docs](https://postgale.com/docs/mcp) keep the current path for every client.

## What can ChatGPT do through Postgale today?

An agent can publish today on [Instagram](https://postgale.com/integrations/instagram), [Facebook Pages](https://postgale.com/integrations/facebook), [Threads](https://postgale.com/integrations/threads), [TikTok](https://postgale.com/integrations/tiktok), [Telegram](https://postgale.com/integrations/telegram), [Discord](https://postgale.com/integrations/discord), [Bluesky](https://postgale.com/integrations/bluesky) and [Mastodon](https://postgale.com/integrations/mastodon), and answer customers on [WhatsApp Business](https://postgale.com/integrations/whatsapp). X is coming soon.

Nothing has to go out unreviewed. Approval can be required per workspace, per connected account, per API key or per signed-in app; while it applies, posts wait as pending approval in the dashboard, and replies, direct messages and edits to live posts are refused. Every write the agent makes is kept in the audit log.
