Connect Hermes Agent to X: coming soon

Not yet. X is coming soon to Postgale: X accounts cannot be connected today, so Hermes Agent cannot post, reply or send direct messages on X through Postgale yet. Hermes Agent can already connect to Postgale and work on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, Telegram, Discord, Bluesky and Mastodon, and answer customers on WhatsApp Business.

Coming soon

Can Hermes Agent post, reply or send direct messages on X through Postgale?

Coming soon: X is not available yet. An X account cannot be connected in Postgale today, so nothing on this page works against X yet. What is planned may change before launch.

Postgale is the secure layer for AI agents on social media. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor use outside tools. An MCP server is what they connect to. Until X is live, Dashboard → Accounts shows X as “Coming soon”, and Hermes Agent gets no X account to act on.

What is planned for X?

The plan is the official X API v2, with the same approval, audit log and revocable access as the other platforms. Details may change before launch:

  • Posts, threads, polls and quote posts with images, a GIF or a video.
  • Replies, mentions and direct messages.
  • Recent search and post metrics.
  • X’s own rules applied before anything is sent, such as its 280 weighted-character limit.

Set up Hermes Agent with Postgale today

  1. In Postgale, open Dashboard → API keys, create a key and copy it (it starts with sk_ and is shown once). Connect the social accounts the agent may use under Dashboard → Accounts.
  2. An agent that runs on its own, on a schedule or from a chat app, should use a key with approval required: create the key, then turn on approval for it under Dashboard → API keys. Everything it wants to publish, reply or send then waits for a person.
  3. Make the key available to Hermes Agent as a secret, for example an environment variable POSTGALE_API_KEY on the machine it runs on.

Step 2: add Postgale as an MCP server

Declare a remote (HTTP) MCP server in Hermes Agent’s configuration with these values. The file and key names depend on your Hermes Agent version; its documentation shows where MCP servers go.

Postgale MCP server
URL: https://postgale.com/mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Header: Authorization: Bearer sk_…

Restart the agent so it loads the server, then ask it which tools it has from Postgale. It should list tools such as list_accounts, create_post, list_comments and send_message.

What can Hermes Agent do through Postgale today?

An agent can publish today on Instagram, Facebook Pages, Threads, TikTok, Telegram, Discord, Bluesky and Mastodon, and answer customers on WhatsApp Business. X is coming soon.

Nothing has to go out unreviewed. Approval can be required per workspace, per connected account, per API key or per signed-in app; while it applies, posts wait as pending approval in the dashboard, and replies, direct messages and edits to live posts are refused. Every write the agent makes is kept in the audit log.

There is no public date yet. X is coming soon; until then it cannot be connected in Postgale.

Yes, if you use any of the live networks: the same setup works for Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, Telegram, Discord, Bluesky and Mastodon and WhatsApp Business today, with approval and the audit log. When X goes live, Hermes Agent uses it through the same connection.
