Postgale vs Postiz

Postiz is an agentic social media scheduler: agents draft and schedule through its hosted MCP server (OAuth sign-in), CLI or API to 30+ channels, and people review everything in a visual calendar. It is open source (AGPL-3.0) with a hosted plan from $29 a month. Postgale is a secure layer rather than a scheduler: approval that a person sets per workspace, account, key or app and that the agent cannot approve itself, a queue for comment replies and DMs as well as posts, and an audit log of every write. Postiz covers many more channels and publishes its prices.

What is the difference between Postgale and Postiz?

Postgale is the secure layer for AI agents on social media. Agents publish through its REST API and MCP server; a person decides where approval applies, and every write is recorded in an audit log.

Postiz calls itself “the agentic social media scheduling platform”. Agents connect through a hosted MCP server with OAuth sign-in (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok Build), a CLI and skill (npx skills add gitroomhq/postiz-agent, used by OpenClaw, Codex, Hermes Agent and others) or a public API, and posts land in one calendar where, in its words, “a human reviews and approves it before it goes out”. It also has a built-in AI agent, image and video generation, and a self-hostable open-source edition.

When should you pick Postiz, and when Postgale?

Pick Postiz if you want a full scheduler that agents can drive: a calendar, 30+ channels including LinkedIn, YouTube and X, AI images and video, RSS auto-posting, repeating posts, a CLI for shell-based agents, or an open-source edition to run yourself.

Pick Postgale if the agent itself is the user: if a person, not the agent, must decide what needs approval and the agent cannot switch it off; if replies, comment moderation and direct messages should wait in the same queue as posts; and if you want an audit log of every agent action from day one. Postgale also covers WhatsApp Business conversations and DMs on Instagram and Messenger.
